Wall plaques represent a unique and wonderful departure from my traditional work. For this piece, I created a richly textured panel and then attached a series of ribs to provide both color and surface contrast. Finished using the raku firing process, I produced a work that takes me back beneath the sails of a junk as it plied the waters of the harbor of Hong Kong.
