Lace Applique Vase

Desperately tricky to execute and fantastic when successfully completed, this rectangular raku vase provides a beautiful example of the dazzling lusters and carefully layered effects that can be achieved by a skilled artisan. A variegated copper and jade luster glaze frames a meticulously applied sheet of clay embossed with vintage lace. Layers of glaze are then hand-painted onto the embossment to create its marvelous tonal effect.
