In the early days of my studio, a large copper beech tree stood in my neighbors yard and towered over my building. Sadly, after years of their neglect, I learned that it was to come down. I stood in the doorway the day the tree service came for it and felt both the pain of loss and the drive to create a lasting memorial in the tree”s honor. This series of hand pressed tiles grew from that desire and through them the sentinel of my studio lives on.
