Product Description

Horsehair vessels typify classic southwest Native American pottery. Strands of hair are obtained from the mane or tail of a horse and carefully placed, one at a time, on the sides of a glowing hot pot. As they fuse to the outer wall of the vessel, they leave distinctive lightning bolt patterns and subtle smoky patches. My pieces have a twist. I glaze the interiors and rims to produce a lovely counterpoint to the horsehair effect and give the pots a pleasing finish.
