I love to create monoprint plates. For this series, I produce a number of paper cutouts that capture the sense and feel of the Hong Kong harbor. Then, layer after painstaking layer, the cutouts and different pigment combinations are applied to a wet clay slab. Once the composition is complete, the piece is trimmed, placed in a custom-built former and all of the paper layers are carefully removed. If all goes well, I get to relive a few days in Hong Kong.
